About
My name is Todd Blackley and I've been in the Software Development field for over 35 years. During this time, I've been involved in all aspects of software development in a number of different product domains (retail, health, business to security). I've coupled my experience with Buddhist philosophy to understand the human effects on the roles involved with software development. My desire is to provide benefit to others in this field and it's the reason I've created Blue-Footed-Boobie.
The name "Blue Footed Boobie" was derived from a pair of light blue Crocs that used to wear after spring bike rides in Yellowstone National Park. The name was solidified after I received a plush toy of a BlueFootedBooby in the mail. From there the name just seemed to make sense for it's non-threatening name, appearance and it's funny looks.
The name is meant to place persons at ease so that they can ask questions that may sound silly (why is the software never done?, Why are there so many bugs?, etc.). There are no stupid questions.
This field is not about engineering, it's about people, how they think, perceive themselves, interact and act. This is what really effects software development.
